TheVault is a personal website spun up by Luke Martin, an IT Field Technician who has a passion for All things Technology.
Luke Martin is a seasoned Field Technician working from Fairbanks Alaska for a startup MSP by the name of Vicinity. Being the main Field Technician for the Fairbanks Area, he spends his work time often dealing with various hardware issues as well as system-admin work. While the title of “Field Technician” genrally doesn’t include a lot of work besides basic troubleshooting, due to the size of Vicinity, Luke partakes in a lot of work that would often be considered “System Administration” as well as “Security Adminstration”. Being the main person who runs the SentinelOne EDR for Vicinity’s maanged environments, he spends a lot of time doing incident response as well as organizing and designing proper exclusion and blacklists for the wide variety of environments that Vicinity manages.
Professional Experience
Throughout his career in Info-Tech, he has:
- Stood up client endpoints and various peripherals
- Personally managed over 1200+ Endpoints using SentinelOne EDR
- Configured Fortigate Firewalls
- Configured Spam alerts for key clients and optimized email securit
- Configured automations for security scanning
- Helped run a full multi-day Incident Response for a large environment facing a mass ransomware incident. Sucessfully spun-up immutable backups via Datto, isolated machines and endpoints via SentinelOne, and got rid of the suspected backdoors.
